Living our values, enhancing our service
Collaborative Innovations collaborates with a range of partners to provide the best customised training for businesses, organisations and individuals. We believe training should be relevant and targeted to your needs, using the language of your workplace and based on work situations that are real for you and your staff.
Partnership in Action – Fairfax Media
Collaborative Innovations strives to thoroughly understand your business, and often works alongside other specialists to ensure optimum delivery and traction of learning.
In 2005, Fairfax Media, New Zealand’s largest media group, sought a management training programme for their newsroom executives, which was also relevant to their work in busy newsrooms. “These people are wary of jargon and the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to training,” Fairfax said in their brief.
Collaborative Innovations partnered with former newspaper editor and media trainer Venetia Sherson to design a management programme that reflected the work of newsroom managers. The training programme was based around scenarios the managers encountered in their workplace, and was customised to reflect the roles and responsibilities of newsroom managers and the pressures of their daily deadlines.
Fairfax has been delighted by the results. The programmes have since been held annually and are fully subscribed, becoming an essential component of the Fairfax training calendar.
This highly successful programme over five days in two parts has been running twice a year since then and has been highly valued by its participants. Marie has also undertaken other courses for us including time management and personal development initiatives.
A highly professional and innovative trainer, Marie is an important part of our editorial training programme.
Partnership in Action – Jag Media
Collaborative Innovations also partners with JAG Media, together delivering crisis communication training and other initiatives in public communication for individuals, businesses, government departments and the not-for-profit sector.
